July 27, 2016 | g3partners The organising team at K-Startup Grand Challenge is extremely excited to announce that we have selected 80 global startups for the final round of assessments in Korea. After several weeks of online and local face to face assessments, 80 teams from 32 countries will be invited for on-site assessments at Global Campus in Seoul. The final round of assessments will take place at Startup Campus in Korea, August 17 to 21, 2016. K-Startup Grand Challenge has already proven to be hugely popular, with 2,439 startups applying from 124 countries for their seat in the program. The program also attracted the attention of the global media, with notable articles appearing in TechCrunch and VentureBeat, the world’s top startup media sites, and TechInAsia, Asia’s top startup media site. Following receipt of applications and initial document assessments, teams from K-Startup Grand Challenge and the program’s four partner accelerators (Sparklabs, DEV Korea, Shift., and ActenerLab) held local, in-person assessments in nine countries, across four continents (Asia, Europe, N. America and Africa). In the assessments each startup had four minutes to present their business, followed by four minutes for judges to ask follow-on questions. At this stage, 295 startups had the opportunity to pitch for their place in the program. 32 countries will be represented in Korea for final assessments and letters of invitation with further details are being sent to the semi-finalists early this week.
